JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to be at the center of events in a workplace where the pace can be high? We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a detention guard in Borås and Alingsås during the summer period.

In the role of detention guard, you are expected to be flexible and able to switch between several different tasks. The foundation is that you are responsible for the detained individuals and participate in searches, sampling, body searches, photography, evidence collection, fingerprinting, as well as supervision and monitoring of the detained individuals; taking reports may also occur. Travel may be required as duties may be performed at both locations.

You will work closely with the station commanders who lead the daily operations, where additional tasks may be added. You will receive relevant training for these assignments as needed.

For those of you who are PHS students, you will gain valuable experience in meeting detained individuals and an understanding of the first steps in the legal chain. Experiences that you will benefit from in your continued career in the police profession.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • High school diploma or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • Possess a driver's license with category B, manual transmission
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Ongoing studies at the police academy with a completed and approved first term by the start of employment on June 8. Alternatively, possess a certificate for detention guard training that is deemed relevant.
  • Previous experience working with/meeting people in vulnerable and/or difficult situations, for example, from healthcare, psychiatry, school, or correctional services
  • Experience with administrative tasks such as documentation skills.
  • Worked in the public sector.
  • Non-Nordic language skills in addition to English that the employer assesses as relevant for the function where you can use the language fluently in professional practice.

In the role of detention guard, it is crucial that you act with maturity and integrity. You contribute to a good work environment where equal treatment is a given. You show respect and commitment in meetings and in collaboration with others. It is natural for you to act according to the police's employee policy and values in an exemplary manner. We are looking for someone with excellent collaboration skills who can also work independently. You respect and follow decisions and priorities made. You take care of both personal and shared equipment.

The tasks require the ability to act calmly and professionally, even in stressful situations. You have good self-awareness and apply a high level of security thinking, which means you are reliable in situations where physical violence may arise and can adapt your approach and demeanor for conflict prevention. You have the ability to prioritize and quickly switch between tasks and pace, as well as a strong willingness and ability to develop your skills and the organization through your drive and initiative.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Information about leave during the employment period:
If you are selected for employment, you do not have the right to vacation leave. Instead, you will receive vacation compensation paid after the employment ends.

Shorter leave with salary deduction may be granted if the operations allow it and then according to agreement with the manager.
